+ evelyn grabbed the cold, brass doorknobs and turned it while pulling the light white doors open. she lightly sniffled as she walked onto the plush, white carpet in the master bed room she had once shared with her husband. after crying once again, she had gotten herself together enough to leave the cold floor she had spent her afternoon on. chewing on her peach colored lip, evelyn stared down at her gold ring remembering of how happy she was the day he had asked her. it was raining, just a small drizzle for mow atleast. it rained alot around this time in cocoa beach, florida. tousling her silky blonde hair, evelyn had grabbed the scotch box bonding tape and began to tape things together. they were making her move off of the base, all wives whose husbands had died had to.. she didn't want to. something inside of her refused to completely believe that he was gone. it just hadn't hit her heart, he was still around. she could feel it.. her brown eyes glanced at the time, 5:23 pm. she then looked down at the diamond that shined on her left ring finger. taking a deep breath, evelyn placed everything down before slipping the band that she had worn religiously since what felt like forever.. off. there was a small mark that was left along her skin. you could tell it was a little too small but, comfortably fitted where it was. evelyn placed it on the white nightstand and went back to packing, hoping that the distraction would hold her over for atleast the next three hours.
